The resolution of micrometer is obtained of interaction of 'micrometric screw', machined on the spindle, with the screw of 'internal bush'. Usually, the micrometric screw is of imput and your step is of 0.50mm. This means that a complete turn (360°) of the thimble, and of the spindle, will produce an advance similar to the step (fifty hundredths).
The centesimal reading of this instrument is obtained because of the perimeter of the thimble, where are minted fifty equidistant divisions. A complete turn will produce an advance of 0.50mm and the fifty divisions will sweep the refference line.
The thousandth resolution is obtained applying the principle of vernier , minted in the sleeve.

to reduce the number of clics, this simulator has a fast advance. Just drag and drop in the horizontal the thimble of the smaller visualization. For the fine drag and drop the thimble of the bigger visualization in the vertical
