Parallel lines with the aid of a pair of triangle or set square

## How to draw parallel lines with the aid of a pair of triangle or set square

animation is part of the educational program The Geometric Drawing in Multimedia

The squares are used as drawing instruments for tracing and solving geometry problems. It is possible to draw several geometric entities with the aid of a pair of squares. This animation is part of the educational program The Geometric Drawing in Multimedia.

The pair of triangle or set square consists of a square with a right angle and two angles of 45° and the other with a right angle, one of 30º and another of 60º. In it the hypotenuse of the triangle with 45° angles is congruent to the longest side of the triangle with angles of 30° and 60°. It is recommended to use brackets without chamfer or graduation.

## Technical drawing

Draw parallel lines with the aid of a pair of triangle or set square

Procedure:

- Use a sqaure to draw the first line;
- Without moving it, touch the second sqaure on one of its sides;
- Slide the first square using the second as reference to the desired position;
- Move it away from the second;
- Without moving the square, draw the line parallel to the first.
