exercises scale in millimeter reading interpretation observation
1cm
or
10mm
in the metal-mechanic industry it is usual the scale in millimeter, but in other areas of the human knowledge, the furniture industry or construction for example, teh scale in centimeter is more used (Brazil)
2.5cm
or
25mm

1.1cm
or
11mm

0.3cm
or
3mm
observe that the object was placed in the mark 31mm and moved until the mark 34mm (34mm - 31mm = 3mm)
1.2cm
or
12mm

2.6cm
or
26mm
observe that the object was placed in the mark 74mm and moved until the mark 100mm (100mm - 74mm = 26mm)
0.4cm
or
4mm
observe that the object was placed in the mark 4mm and moved until the mark 8mm (8mm - 4mm = 4mm)
1.25cm
or
12.5mm
observe that the object was placed in the mark 3mm and passed a little bit of the mark 45mm. This way we can say that the object has more than 12mm and less than 13mm. My interpretation was that it get more or less in the middle way between the marks, this way, my interpretation that it has half millimeter more than 12mm (33mm - 45.5mm = 12.5mm). The value 0.5mm is doubtful, because each person could interpretate one different value (0.4mm 0.6mm?).
1.8cm
or
18mm
observe that the object was placed in the mark 38mm and moved until the mark 16mm (36mm - 18mm = 18mm)
4.55cm
or
45.5mm
observe that the object was placed between the mark 4 mm and 5mm and got until the 50mm mark. This way we can say that the object has more than 45mm and less than 46mm. My interpretation was that it get more or less in the middle way between the marks, this way, my interpretation that it has half millimeter more than 45mm (50mm - 4.5mm = 45.5mm). The value 0.5mm is doubtful, because each person could interpretate one different value (0.4mm 0.6mm?).
